Visiting Amazing Dubai Musical

We have already December, the time is running like crazy, in a couple of weeks, we will celebrate our first year of living in Dubai. Last year at this time ….. it would never come through my head to celebrate my next Christmas in Dubai. Here we are ….. more than happy to be part of the amazing city name Dubai!

When we heard that Dubai hosting a musical about the history of Dubai with magical name Amazing Dubai, we couldn’t wait to see it.

Three ladies dressed in royal blue made the city unsafe! The musical was great! We sang, danced and cried. They played the national anthem which was very emotional, we simply enjoyed every minute. We recommend this musical very much. If you live or visiting Dubai, don’t miss the chance to learn something about this amazing culture and country full of opportunities and magic.

Back to Dubai

Huraaaa! We are back to Dubai! After almost two months of traveling we finally back. The major reason why we left Dubai is simply the hot period in summer. Dubai is an amazing city, but nothing much exciting for a mother with a little child to do here, in summer you prefer to spend a time with your baby outside. Here in Dubai are thousands of things to do every day, but they mostly indoors. My vision of happy childhood is, running outside and playing with friends, that’s why we decided to spend most of this summer back in Europe.

But now we so much happy to be back, I missed my friends a lot and I literally adore the lifestyle here in Dubai, I missed all of it. Our first week was pretty busy, all Èstelles classes started already the first week so had lots to do.

My very lovely friends came to visit Dubai, I was so excited to see them after very long time. We had a great time, thank you for this.

The first week of September 2017 was exciting and the next weeks will not be different.

See you soon! Kiss Two and half women!

Karlsbad / Karlovy Vary

After visiting Marienbad, why not to visit the next … one of the most interesting cities … the one and only film festival city of Czech Republic, my very favorite … Karlsbad.

It’s August, sommer 2017, in the air is love and desire to travel, not too far, just relaxed, no more than a half an hour drive from Marienbad is this next posh monumental historical Thermal Spa Karlovy Vary.

In the 19th century, Karlovy Vary became a popular tourist destination, especially known for international celebrities visiting this place for a spa treatment. As I already mentioned the city is also known for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which is one of the oldest in the world and one of Europe’s major film events. It is also known for the popular Czech liqueur Becherovka and the production of the famous glass manufacturer Moser Glass, (a supplier to Edward VII,  the company exhibited at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition 1915 and was awarded as already many times before with a medal, which Louis Comfort Tiffany and Charles Tuthill thought well deserved due to the outstanding quality of the hot glass applied decorations on coloured Bohemian glass.) Oh yes and we shouldn’t forget the famous and very delicious Karlovarské oplatky (Carlsbad wafers) originated in the city in 1867.

Karlovy Vary has been used as the location for a number of film-shoots, including the 2006 films Last Holiday and bond movie Casino Royale, both of which used the city’s  popular and very elegant Grandhotel Pupp in different guises.

This city is very romantic with many parks, thermal springs, exclusive shops and many restaurants ( some of them pretty overpriced ). You will find here definitely something to do, or to see.

Castle Kynžvart (Schloss Königswart)

On the way to our trip to Marienbad, we heard that the castle Kynzvart (Schloss Königswart) is not very far away from us, we decided to visit this place.

Already the drive to this castle was very beautiful, surrounded by not only a beautiful nature but many farms and modern golf club, we had a good weather and lots of fun.

We have learned a lot about family Metternich, theirs brisant story you shouldn’t miss. It is definitively a beautiful historical place worth of visit.

Here some information we found in Wikipedia, more you will experience only when you visit this place yourself …

Kynžvart Castle (German: Schloss Königswart) is a historic château located near Lázně Kynžvart in the Cheb District of the Czech Republic. The building’s architecture is in the neoclassical style. After extensive renovations, the castle was reopened to the public in 2000. A guided tour takes visitors through 25 rooms of the castle.

The first castle, built before 1600, collapsed. After the Battle of White Mountain during the Thirty Years’ War, the remains of the castle were confiscated and by 1630 granted to the Metternich family. From 1682 to 1691, Count Philipp Emmerich von Metternich turned the decayed ruins into a Baroque residence. From 1821 to 1836, the Austrian Chancellor Klemens Wenzel von Metternich remodeled the building in the neoclassical style with the help of architect Pietro Nobile.

The castle was confiscated from the Metternich family in 1945 by the Czechoslovak government.

The castle has a library that includes over 200 examples of incunabula, medieval manuscripts, valuable prints, scientific books, and scientific encyclopedias. In 1828, a museum was founded to display the castle’s natural science collections, coins, historical and technological curiosities, manuscripts, ancient Egyptian monuments, marble sculptures, and pieces of Oriental art.

Mariánské lázně in summer 2017

It is late summer in Czech Republic, we have to enjoy the last warm moments here in Europe before we take off back to Dubai.  We decided to visit some friends in Mariánské lázně, the drive is about 1 1/2 hour from us, so not big deal. I was a spontaneous decision as always, weather was fantastic so why not.

Today we not going to tell you much about the history of this beautiful city, we believe that if you are interested, you can find anytime plenty of informations about Mariánské lázně in Internet. But this time we would like share with you this beautiful fashion quote:

“The dress should be so tight to see that you are a woman, but still too loose to see that you are a lady.”   (n.n.)

“Šaty mají být tak těsné, aby bylo vidět, že jde o ženu, ale přeci jen tak volné, aby bylo vidět, že jde o dámu. ”   (n.n.)

Enjoy our video.

Our short summer trip to Germany.

We are since couple of weeks in Europe, we could not miss to visit our other part of the family.

I am always happy to come back to my beloved Germany, we lived here for some time in Königstein am Taunus, near by Frankfurt am Main. I have fantastic memories from there.

Now is the most important reason why we flying to Düsseldorf to visit our german part of family. We haven’t seen Marcus mother and sister since last summer.

We had a great time, weather was not much on our side, it rained most of the time, but what to expect in Nordrhein-Westfalen, there is always raining. But we made the most out of it. See our video.

The countryside is beautiful. I am every time impressed about the lifestyle of the Nordrhein-Westfalen people living here. It is unbelievable clean, the houses are very well maintained with love and passion for the detail. It is inspiring to see how people putting such effort in garden and home decoration. I simply love it here.

Castle Hněvín and Jezeří, Czech Republic

Today is Saturday, weather is not very pleasant, we swinging in thoughts of what to do today, despite the weather we decided to visit some historical place near by, to show something different to our little Estelle. And you would not believe it, but we managed two castles in one day!  Here they are! We very very much surprised what we found. Here some food for your thoughts ….

Castle Hněvín in Most, Czech Republic

Hněvín Castle was named after the hill it was built upon. Archaeological investigations have uncovered the remains of a castle that was there in the 9th century, but a stone castle was probably built by the Hrabišics, the owners of Most, while Václav I granted Most royal city status in the 12th century, with the castle becoming the seat of the district administrator. The castle Hněvín went through many difficult days being occupied, destroyed and sold, but the most interesting and surprising for us was the information that the Germans presented in Most a scaled copy of the Eiffel Tower, the famous symbol of the Paris World Exhibition held in the same year. The city decided to purchase a wooden, twenty-five-foot-high tower and use it for panoramic view from the Castle Hill. The new Hněvín dominance was handed over to the public on Sunday, October 13, 1889. The opening ceremony was preceded by the night lighting of the tower. The residents of the city did not enjoy it for a long time. A year later, a strong wind destroyed entire tower.

After 1989, city Most Hněvín acquired the restitution as historical property and in 2000-2001 carried out a costly reconstruction of the whole area. Roofs were repaired, new utility towers were built, a new pavement was laid in the courtyard, and the outside lighting of the castle was installed.  The castle serves as a hotel and restaurant, you can also have a wonderful wedding here as you can see in our video.

Castle Jezeří in Jiretín, Czech republic

Same as Castle Hněvín, Jezeří went trughout difficult times but there is something you surely don’t  know.

At the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century there was a huge construction and cultural development of the castle. Since 1802, the Castle Theater has been in operation, the famous Eisenberg Choir performed here. Concerts in the chateau park were visited by many prominent personalities; like Johann Wolfgang von Goethe or Ludwig van Beethoven, he was a close friend of František Maxmilián Lobkowicz (1772-1816), the owner of the chateau at the beginning of the nineteenth century.  Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 Eroica had a private premiere at the Castle Theater as well as Haydn’s oratoryo of the Creation of the World.

This list of prominent artists who visited Jezeří doesn’t ends. Among others, Christophe Willibald Gluck or the Vranic brothers can be mentioned. During World War II, Lobkovice’s property was confiscated and a branch of the Flossenbürg concentration camp was set up in this castle, here was also captured Charles de Gaulle’s brother as a prisoner of war.

We learned a lot and Estelle had a great time running around and asking thousands of questions. It was another exciting day.

The beautiful life in Dubai

Today we treated ourself in our beloved beach resort of the The Westin Dubai Hotel. We visited this exclusive location with many pools and wonderful beach area very often because it is not far away from where we live and also because we are the proud owners of APC card “AVIATION PROFESSIONALS CLUB”, so we have access, which usually very strict is or you have to pay very hight fees to get in.

I simply adore this exclusive and peaceful retreat settled on Jumeirah Beach, the resort offers the perfect destination for the entire family to recharge after a long week with a breath-taking array of recreation activities, this location with many pools and wonderful beach area featuring exceptional views over the Arabian Gulf, the impressive neoclassical architecture fills the five-star luxury beach resort in Dubai with charm and inspiration.

My favorite dinning in Westin is the Bussola Italian restaurant, its outdoor location with amazing view over Marina is definitively worth to try. I love it.
